Animation
Animations can be useful when trying to show how something moves or changes. Animations simulate the of movement of an object whereas static images can only show an object in its state at a particular moment in time.
Animations differ from video because they are a series of images strung together to simulate movement whereas video is continuous motion broken up into discrete frames.
